Ani’s Raw Food Kitchen

This is one amazing book! I love Ani’s creative writing style. It’s very lighthearted and easy to read. The information presented in Ani’s Raw Food Kitchen goes far beyond just the ingredients and tools you’ll need for your raw kitchen, Ani takes a holistic approach to life and offers raw beauty and eco-friendly tips and true insight on how our environment takes the brunt of our choices–even small ones! I was amazed that Ani even shares ways you can care for your pet that you may never have even considered!

In Ani’s Raw Food Kitchen, Ani talks about her childhood, her raw-food-enthusiast parents, and how she came full circle–right back to her raw roots, where she belongs.

The photos in this book are brilliant. And the recipes? TO DIE FOR!! The desserts especially look fantabulous–and Ani says since they’re made from healthy, organic, and raw foods you’ll probably even LOSE WEIGHT eating them!! Can you imagine??!! I see what she’s saying, though. Here’s why: Ani’s desserts contain ingredients like raw nuts, fruit, and coconut–not bleached flours, processed sugars, or preservatives. So… your body is getting nutrients it’s been craving and probably not receiving. Once you feed your body what it’s needing, it will begin leveling out and you’ll become so much healthier.

Ani emphasizes that she’s not trying to bash folks who don’t eat 100% raw; she just wants to promote raw, organic (living) foods and would love for everyone to incorporate more of them into their diets.

Note: Now, people, you can’t eat Ani’s delicious desserts after chugging down a big ole burger and fries and expect to drop the pounds. ;-) It’s all about making sensible choices and a lifestyle change.

  7. Cue: A healthy-looking woman runs in super-slow motion through a field of grass, her long hair blowing in the wind.

Voice-over: I’m a vegan who doesn’t want to lose her hair over going raw. In the past diet changes have made my hair fall out. When I went vegan I did it poorly and didn’t get enough protein, hence the hair loss. Silly me. I’ve always wanted to try a raw food diet but have hesitated because of this…er… hairy issue. Ani’s Raw Food Kitchen is just the guide I need to get all the health advantages of a raw diet, and keep my lovely locks as well. Thank you. :)

  8. I came across this at a very interesting time – I was just talking about starting a raw food diet with a friend yesterday. To have Ani’s book would be a wonderful way to get motivated and to see an enjoyable way to begin to incorporate raw food into my lifestyle.

  10. I have just gotten back to a raw lifestyle, have connected with a growing raw community in town, and am getting excited about making delicious dishes for myself, the family & the community! I would love to have Ani’s book ~ i’ve tried the recipes she has on youtube and they are incredible!! (although I think Kari should win :] )

  11. I’ve been doing some major healing with raw foods now for the past 3 years and I love, love, love Ani’s book. She’s one of my fave raw foodie gurus because of her …lightness of being, for lack of any other way to say it. The reason I want my own copy of this book is so I can stop getting coconut chutney and ginger cashew mayo all over the pages of the library’s copy…AND, so I can share it with newbies to the raw food lifestyle at our little burgeoning raw food meetups here in OKC. Raw blessings to everyone! –Tamlyn

  12. Right as I stepped into the raw food world Ani’s recipes jumped out at me. So far, I only have access to them online, but I would love to be chosen to receive a lovely book by her and take my raw to the next level!
