First, I’d like to remind you about the current contest I have running: The Bolder Mat Company Yoga Mat + Stacy McCarthy’s Yoga DVD. (Contest ends Wednesday, August 19th. There are SEVEN ways to win!!)
For the longest, I’ve been meaning to make Angela’s raw chocolate pudding (which is RAW and VEGAN) but have never got around to it until today. Gosh, have I EVER been missing out! Seriously. This chocolate pudding is the best stuff–and it’s WAY healthier than the chocolate I ate on my birthday!
Note: Since I added the organic Oikos Greek yogurt, my recipe isn’t raw or vegan like Angela’s. If you’d prefer it to be, head on over to her site (linked above) and use her recipe. If you don’t mind the yogurt, feel free to make mine! (I am going to try it without the yogurt next time. I think I added too much cocoa powder this time, or maybe it was an after taste from the agave nectar. Ya think? Should I try a different Agave? Any suggestions on that?)
Organic Blue Agave

Cocoa Powder, Vanilla Extract, Agave

Into the Food Processor

4 avocados (forgot to photo them separately, sorry!)
1/2 unsweetened cocoa powder (I used the Certified Organic NOW brand)
3/4 cup agave nectar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons of water
All Combined

It tasted TOO chocolate-y. Does that make sense? So I added a 5.3 ounce container of organic Vanilla Oikos Greek yogurt to try to mellow it out some….

After the Oikos

Scraped Clean

Into a Container
(Notice the recipe on the fridge in the background for lots of future use!)

Creamy Chocolate Heaven

Half a Banana, Sliced

With Chocolate Pudding On Top!

Yum-O!!
(This chocolate lovin’ girl is H-A-P-P-Y!!!)

How’d your Sunday go? After I made this awesome chocolate pudding, I cleaned out the fridge and between fridge veggies and stuff from the garden, I juiced up a few containers of raw juice. I’ll post about it next. I thought you’d love taking a peek at my avocado chocolate pudding adventure! Hope you did!

Thanks, Jocelyn! I think you’ll LOVE it!! Yes, I believe regular yogurt would work. You might want to add it a little at a time, though, because it isn’t as thick as Greek yogurt–unless you like your pudding runnier. ;-D
Oh, chocolate peanut butter on your last post? I’m on my way over!!!

Who says you can’t enjoy eating healthy? It’s amazing that there are avocados in this recipe.
Thanks:-)

Thanks, Jess! It IS fabulous–so yummy!!!
I ADORE Greek yogurt so it’s the first thing that popped into my head when I realized I needed to adjust the taste, but keep the creaminess action going on.

The pudding looks awesome. I make one very similar, I call it chocolate mousse. 1 or 2 ripe avos, about 1/4 c cocoa powder, and about 1/2 c agave. Optional: tbsp of coconut oil and/or vanilla. I am not a coco oil girl so I omit but if I’m making it for a party, people like it and I keep it in. I tell people it’s chocolate mousse and I serve it slightly chilled and no one would guess it’s totally vegan and uses avos. The look on your face is pure heaven. Glad you enjoyed!

Thank you, Averie! Oh, your recipe sounds delicious too! I LOVED the look on my dad’s face when he tasted it–he’s not an avocado kind of man! LOL He thought it DID taste like chocolate pudding. I was PROUD!!!
Hmmm… Hadn’t thought of adding coconut oil to it. I do have another recipe I’ll try soon that’s like a raw fudge or something and it uses cocoa powder and coconut oil and agave and I’m not sure what else. You can also add nuts or coconut flakes, etc. I think I saw a similar recipe on your site (it still won’t let me comment, by the way…) but this one looks pretty firm. I don’t know, I’ll try it and find out!
Oh, glad my face looks like heaven–I was afraid I looked like a dork! I just had to publish a couple of photos of myself, though, to really share exactly how divine it is and how I was in literal chocolate heaven!

I HAVE MADE this too and ADORE IT!
I am addicted to banana soft serve with cocoa powder…
yes…DO TRY the coconut oil! it’s HEAVEN!
I think we need to plant an avocado with the way we are going thru them!
MMMMMMM

It’s SO delicious, isn’t it??!! I have some bananas in the freezer just for banana soft serve. My mom and me made it before but it’s been a WHILE since I’ve had it! We added dates and something else it seems and then we made pretty parfaits with the banana soft serve and fruit. It was beautiful and delicious!!
Yes, an avocado tree would be nice–a lemon one, too! I go through lots of lemons.

Yum! I never would have thought that chocolate and avocado would go well together. I wonder how well this pudding would go with crepes.
