Soda. This is something I gave up years ago not long after I began my weight loss journey. I had over 100 pounds to lose and I finally realized that artificial drinks (like soda) that were loaded with chemical sweeteners or tons of sugar were not helping me with my efforts at all. And I’ve avoided it ever since. That’s why I was SO excited when my RAWsome friend, Averie, posted her ZEVIA contest over on her blog, Love Veggies, Yoga, Running + Chocolate. And I was even more excited when I was one of the SIX winner! Eeeek!
NOTE: Averie’s ZEVIA contest is CLOSED. Sorry!
I’ve only tried one flavor so far: Natural Cola.
Zevia 100% Natural Soda
With Ice

Verdict/Grade?
I was pleasantly surprised when I took a sip of ZEVIA® Natural Cola and found that it truly tastes like Diet Cola! Amazing. Just so very neat. Seriously. You don’t always find healthier versions that taste like the “real” thing and so it’s super cool that ZEVIA has nailed this one! Thank you, ZEVIA, for creating these fantabulous sodas!
I feel confident giving ZEVIA® Natural Cola an A+!
Oh, but you want to know what’s in this natural soda, right? Check it out for yourself…
From the Site:
ZEVIA™ Natural Cola
ZEVIA™ Natural Cola stevia soda is the crowd-pleaser among the ZEVIA™ Natural Diet Soda varieties. Its classic cola flavor is rarely found in so-called “natural” soda brands because a traditional cola taste is difficult to perfect without artificial ingredients. ZEVIA™ Natural Cola with stevia is even more appetizing when you know that all the ingredients are absolutely pure and natural. The Zevia team spent extensive time (and drank a lot of colas and “test” product) to make sure this ZEVIA™ product would satisfy a cola drinker. Learn about the pure, all natural ingredients in ZEVIA™ Natural Cola.

Ingredients Include:
- - Stevia
- - Erythritol
- - Natural Caramel
- - Citric Acid
- - Kola Nut Extract
- - Natural Tartaric Acid
- - Natural Caffeine
- - Natural Furmaric Acid
I’ll also be reviewing the other flavors (ZEVIA® Natural Root Beer, ZEVIA® Natural Twist (lemon-lime), ZEVIA® Natural Orange, ZEVIA® Natural Black Cherry, and ZEVIA® Natural Ginger Ale) so be sure to subscribe so you won’t miss my thoughts on those!
Check out this contest for a coupon for Kombucha Synergy Tea at The Confessions of a SAHM blog. You have to have a blog to enter but all you have to do is mention the contest and link back to the contest post. This is my entry!

Thanks, Cindy!
Yeah, I used to be a HUGE soda fan but haven’t touched the stuff for the past few years. Now I might just enjoy ZEVIA sometimes!
Oh…. a ZEVIA slushee. Hmmmm…. Are you listening (er, reading) ZEVIA???
I did dehydrate some stuff (and have plans to do more toward the end of this week) but haven’t had time to post about it yet. It’s coming, though. Promise!

Hey mama, glad to hear you’re back, and you’re enjoying your Zevia, tshirt, and Laras.
For anyone reading this from Michele’s blog, the contest is OVER and CLOSED. I have actually had a few entries today and have no idea how they found the back post but just in case they’re comin’ from here, I’m glad you are all lovin’ the Zevia thoughts, but the thought ended a couple weeks ago LOL
Michele, girl, I’ve missed you and glad you’re back a bit

Thanks, Averie! It’s sooooooooooooo good to be back.
Oh, I still get new comments on old contest posts all the time. When I remember, I update the posts once the contest is over letting readers know it’s now closed but I STILL get more comments on even those posts with updates. Crazy, huh? I think people catching up on their favorite blogs end up on contest posts once their closed and forget to look at the date. I also think people who are just searching various keywords (for example: Zevia soda contest) end up on our blogs and they don’t take note of the deadline either. I’ll update this post letting folks know your contest is over, though. When I read something like what I wrote about me being one of the six winners of your Zevia contest, a red flag goes up “hey, that contest is over” ya know? But for those who don’t get that red flag…. I’ll update.
I’ve missed you all, too!!!
Hugs,
Michele

It does sound intersesting, but does anyone bake with stevia here or use any other brand’s products? I have been using one paket of SeetLeaf stevia in smoothies, and it is sooooooooooooo good!

Hi, Yoda! I don’t personally bake with Stevia. I have in the past but after some experimenting, I discovered that Xylitol is my preferred alternative sweetener when baking. Not only does it sweeten the recipe perfectly, it is an easy one-to-one ratio when dealing with recipes, so if your recipe calls for 1 cup of sugar, you just replace it with 1 cup of Xylitol. Now, I realize Xylitol is more expensive than using processed, white sugar, but the end result is so worth it when you taste your baked good! You can check out Xylitol by clicking here. Hope that helps!!

I think I’ll probably try using SweetLeaf stevia in baking and see how it goes. It’s a very high quality stevia product. Thanks, though for fast response, though. You’re awesome!

You’re welcome! The reason I shy away from using Stevia in baking is because it seems to leave the baked goods tasting like medicine (in my opinion). The Xylitol leaves the baked goods tasting sweet–without an aftertaste.

p.s. — I really don’t use the word “though” before and after everything I say. That is what we would call a “typo.” Please don’t think I’m dumb just because I have blonde hair!

No worries, Yoda. I do that sometimes myself!

This sounds pretty neat. We don’t drink much soda but when we do it’s usually diet due to Annie’s diabetes. But we hardly find any diet drinks here in Kuching – they’re all full sugar. So we resort to just drinking Chinese tea most of the time.

It is neat, Nate! I don’t drink soda either but I’ll definitely be having Zevia when I want to have a soda! I love tea. I drink it every day.

Michele,
I am a self confessed cola-holic. I tried pepsi “natural” and I really enjoyed it – all natural ingredients and a completely different feel.
I’ll have to gived this a try because I know my soda addiction is a bad thing and maybe this will help me a bit.

Thanks, George! Now, you do realize this tastes like diet soda, right? It’s still really delicious, in my opinion. Since this review, I’ve sampled the Ginger Ale and Black Cherry–the Black Cherry was TO DIE FOR!!!! Seriously, I want it again. NOW! LOL
Yeah, the soda industry is chemical-filled for sure and not the healthiest way to get liquids in. Okay, not healthy at all. *runs and hides from soda companies* hehehe But, seriously, I’m happy with what I know about Zevia and feel good about drinking it when I want something other than water, herbal tea, and juices.

I discovered Zevia about 8 months ago. It is amazing! I’ve waited years for Stevia to come to the forefront. I quit a 6 to 8 (20 oz. bottles) Diet Coke a day habit 6 years ago. I went cold turkey for my health and never looked back. A friend had introduced me to Stevia (she had grown herself) a year or so before I quit the DC, so I tracked it down and have been using Sweet Leaf brand ever since. I’m not a health food nut, but I quickly became verbal about Stevia because of how wonderful it is. Since then, I’ve changed much of my eating habits and am eliminating chemicals everywhere I can – even my soaps, lotions, and toothpaste. It’s amazing how much better I feel.
I’m so glad you blogged about Zevia, I’ve been telling everyone I know about it. I still only drink it in moderation because I’ve become a water-drinker (Ha! people from 6 years ago would call me a liar if they heard that – but it’s true). But – Zevia has become a favorite “treat” of mine. BTW, I found your blog thanks to the folks at Zevia – and I’ll be returning regularly!

Hi, Beth! I’m so glad to have discovered Zevia, too. I think Black Cherry is my favorite so far. My goodness, it’s delicious!!!
I’ve been telling everyone about it, too! I love the look on folks’ faces when I wear my Zevia T-shirt. Then I explain it to them and they’re intrigued!
I’m so glad you found my blog–I look forward to your future visits!!!
