Hi, y’all! Hope your week started off beautifully – mine sure did! Although I am TIRED, there has been LOTS of fantabulous sunshine (woo hoo!!!!!) and I’ve been soakin’ it up!

More sunny days also means more time spent outside WORKING. Ah, the garden and all the other outdoor chores.

While I fantasize about snoozin’ in a hammock, I know I won’t have the nutrient-rich produce I crave (daily!!!) if I don’t get busy moving and do something about it.

And who needs a gym? Seriously!

Burn, Baby, Burn!!!

Garden squats make ya feel the BURN.

Think about it: When gardening, you squat and plant, get up, move down, squat and plant some more – unless you crawl around, that is.

But if you’re squatting (like I do!) it’s a pretty good workout! And…

I AM S-O-R-E!!!!!!!!

Yikes!!!

After that first day of planting, I could barely walk the next morning. And I’m still a little sore. Phew!

If you do a lot of computer – or other sedentary – work, I urge you to “get gardening” – you’ll wake up all those muscles that sleep while you work.

And the best part? With garden squats, something (more than muscle!) comes from all your hard work: FOOD!

I was feeling a little ridiculous silly this evening after all those outside chores (including pulling a big wagon – twice!!! – filled with 5 gallon buckets of water, to water the baby orchard) and took some pictures of myself.

Note the PINK gingham bandana I’m sportin’. Who has time for doodying up hair – there’s chores to do!!!

I was actually WAY more tired than I looked in the above pics – and the wind has chapped my lips (big time!).

But this is how I really felt. I think the sun got to me…..

Exhaustion = SILLY with me!!! LOL

And tomorrow is my brother’s birthday, so I won’t be online – but I PROMISE there’s LOTS of AWESOME reviews, giveaways, recipes, and all sorts of fun stuff coming SOON!!!!

Do you go to a gym? Do you do squats at home? Do you garden? Have you been getting outside and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine? Whatcha been up to?

P.S. I actually remember seeing pictures of me when I was two or three, wearing a red bandana. Maybe I’ll come across ‘em and scan ‘em to compare. :-)

Oh, don’t forget to check and see if you won the iHerb shopping spree giveaway!!!! CLICK HERE to find out!

‘night!

Hello~I have been reading your posts for a while but have never commented until now. I think your blog is so inspirational and encouraging! I am on Day 12 of a Clean detox using Dr. Junger’s book and kit. I have just found Natalia Rose’s books and really love them. I have been incorporating her recipes in my raw eating plan little by little. Did you ever start your Amish Blog? I really enjoy the Amish posts you put up. Or you might be including it in this blog? Hi, Rose!

Thanks so much for speaking up and commenting. I LOVE it when readers share their thoughts! :-D

We ARE still going to launch the Amish homesteading blog, but it’s just taken a backseat to everything else we have going on. But we’ve taken photos and video and have documented as we’ve gone along and we’ll be sharing most everything on the homestead blog. It’s mostly designed right now and just needs a few touch-ups, and then we just have to fill it up with fun, entertaining, informative posts. ;-)

I peeked at your blog, too – LOVE it!!!!

    Hugs,
    Michele

I don’t go to the gym — we live in a podunk town with no real gym. :)

I do yoga and garden. Most people think gardening is just tossing some seeds around and waiting for them to grow. Those who don’t garden don’t realize what a tremendous workout it really is for the legs, glutes, back, and arms.
