Hey, y’all! I know I just posted yesterday – and thank you for all the lovely feedback (via comments, social media messages, and emails!) regarding my husband and “new” pink bike. You all made me feel fantabulous! And so now I have something for you. Genesis Today is running a national contest and contacted me about letting my readers in on the sweet deal. I will be reviewing their juice in an upcoming post but to give y’all maximum time to enter their giveaway, I’m posting it now. I’m sure you’re cool with that, eh?
They sent me the following information:
GENESIS TODAY SHAKING UP THE JUICE MARKET
“Orange Juice Had A Good Run,” but now there is something better for you. Genesis Today, one of the country’s fastest growing juice brands and emerging leader in the superfood consumer category, is changing the perception of your morning glass of orange juice with a new line of superfruit juices. Now that these incredible Superfruit juices are available at Walmart, maybe it’s time you try them for yourself.
“There is a shift in tide currently under way in the beverage market. Dr. Lindsey Duncan is a Naturopathic Doctor and Certified Nutritionist, who has been a trusted leader in the natural health products industry since 1983. After leading a successful nutrition practice in Santa Monica and logging over 40,000 hours of clinical experience, Dr. Lindsey wanted to do more. Dr. Lindsey has brought the superior, customized nutrition he had given his celebrity clients to everyone in America because he believes that no matter what your financial situation or your exercise routine, you deserve to be healthier, now.
ANTI-OXIDANTS. PRO-NUTRIENTS.
Every Genesis Today product is packed with so many nutrients, minerals and antioxidants that just one serving a day is all you need to start meeting your health goals. Hi, y’all!
For those of you who celebrated, I hope you had a blessed Easter holiday – I most certainly did!
Remember a while back, when I shared the news with you about my new partnership with OpenSky? No? Okay, here’s an excerpt from that post:
Why I HEART OpenSky
I quickly fell in love with OpenSky and what they’re doing. What exactly are they doing, you ask?
OpenSky is bringing old-fashioned charm to Internet shopping. They are creating harmony for bloggers, readers, shoppers, and merchants. They are opening the door to a warm, inviting shopping experience; one that will be memorable, enjoyable — and so fun that you’ll want to do it again and again!
I am super excited to announce that I’ve teamed up with OpenSky to host a giveaway! Details are at the end of this post, but don’t skip the middle; there’s some good stuff – including a free recipe for my latest raw, vegan smoothie concoction: The Cabbage Patch! It’s smooth, clean, and delish. Perfect for a warm Spring day!
I will share the prize with you, though: a 12-speed Oster Blender! Eeeek! If you love smoothies, raw chocolate pudding, banana soft serve, raw crackers, raw nut milks, etc., you’ll love the Oster Blender. Why Oster? Well, my Oster Blender (which happens to be 10-speed) was a gift from one of my favorite people in the whole world – one of my aunts. She passed her (very) gently used blender on to me when she found out mine had burnt up. I was elated! Seriously, I was in smoothie withdrawal!
12-Speed Oster Blender
At first, I thought the Oster Blender might not be a very good one. Honestly, I had my doubts regarding its ability to whip up thick, creamy smoothies – or whatever else I concocted.
I was wrong to doubt!
My Oster Blender does a fantabulous job of chomping ice until it’s smooth and blending ingredients beautifully. I’ve yet to be disappointed – and I use it a lot. It’s super easy to clean, fun to use, and I highly recommend it – especially if you love smoothies and raw creations as much as I do!
Some things I’ve made in my Oster include:
Raw Flax Crackers
Chocolate-Banana Avocado Pudding
Pearadise Smoothie
Chocolate-Covered (Tart) Cherry Smoothie
Happy Hemp Smoothie
Raw Cashew Milk (!!!)
Voila: Raw Cashew Milk
What’d I do with my fresh cashew milk? Make a smoothie, of course!
Banana + cabbage, anyone?
Enter: The Cabbage Patch
See the hint of green color??
Cabbage Patch Smoothie
Cabbage Patch Smoothie Recipe
Serves one
Ingredients:
1 cup raw cashew milk (1/2 cup cashews + 1 cup water, blended – and not strained)
1 cup cabbage, chopped
1 banana, frozen chunks
4 ice cubes
Directions:
Add ingredients to your blender and process until well blended. Enjoy!
Note:
My cashew milk was freshly made so it wasn’t cold enough for my preferences. Although the frozen banana did cool off the smoothie, I felt it needed to be colder, so I added the ice cubes.
OpenSky Oster Blender Giveaway Rules!!
This giveaway is different than any I’ve ever hosted – and I’m SO excited!!! You don’t have to leave a gazillion comments or flood social media to qualify for this contest (although I won’t complain if you do!
)

ONE winner will be selected randomly within 48 hours and notified (via email) immediately. You can enter for your 10% coupon code until Wednesday, April 14th.
CLICK HERE for a chance to win your own 12-Speed Oster Blender (valued at $35!!!) and get your 10% discount coupon. Have fun!
And look at the fancy schmancy page OpenSky created for us!!!
Don’t forget to have a look around my OpenSky shop once you’re entered. New products are in the works, so check back often to see if your favorite product has been added. If you don’t see it, let me know and I’ll work with OpenSky to try and get it for you!
And a HUGE thank you to OpenSky + Oster for this RAWsome opportunity!!!!
Do you have an Oster Blender? What do you use it most for? Smoothies? Banana soft serve? Chocolate-avocado pudding? Have you ever used cabbage in your smoothie? Did you like it? I love it myself. Of course, I love cabbage (raw or cooked) – and it’s so good for us! Now, go get yourself entered for that FREE Oster Blender!!!

Wow, what a week I’ve had!
Let me fill you in…
- I got sick: horrid sore/swollen throat, ear trouble, sinus issues, blech! (Thank goodness for herbs and tonics – I’m almost well now!)
- My laptop battery AND cord died and I had to go days without my computer.
- I luckily had access to an old desktop, which although it’s cantankerous, it was access to the Internet.
- I didn’t have access to certain programs, files, etc. that are saved on my computer.
- I had two contests running simultaneously. Ack!
Lots of craziness, eh? And that isn’t the half of it!
My laptop cord arrived today; the battery is supposed to be here tomorrow. My old battery is holding up now so I’m hoping it continues – at least until the new one arrives!
Now I have lots of catching up to do. I see offers in my inbox from companies offering products for reviews/contests – so get ready for lots more good stuff coming up!
And if you’ve emailed but haven’t received a response, all of the above reasons are why. I’ll be wading through my inbox as quickly as possible.
Congrats to the Winners
In case you missed the announcement posts, I’d like to congratulate Earth Mother, who won the Oh!Nuts pecan giveaway and Michal, who won the Oh!Nuts macadamia nut giveaway. Congratulations, ladies!
Contest Alert
Oh, and I thought I’d share a couple of contests in the blogosphere that caught my attention. I know there are more out there but I’m behind on everything…
Prevention RD is having a Larabar giveaway.
Averie Sunshine is hosting a $50 iHerb shopping spree.
How was last week for you? Did you breeze through or stumble, trip, and fall like me? Hope last week was fantabulous for you all – and that this week is, too! And don’t forget about the Valentine’s offer!
First, I want to thank Oh!Nuts for being so gracious as to send me a one-pound bag of raw, jumbo Georgia pecans to sample – AND a one-pound bag to give away to one of my (very lucky) readers. Thank you, Oh!Nuts!
Now, I want to thank all of you who entered the Oh!Nuts raw pecans contest and took the time to read my in-depth review. I appreciate you all!
![]()
Note: I normally include a screen shot of the number Random.org chose but due to my laptop battery and cord going out on me at the same time, I’m on someone else’s old desktop and couldn’t get it to cooperate. You can trust me, though!

And the Winner?
And the lucky reader who will receive a one-pound bag of raw, jumbo Georgia pecans from Oh!Nuts is….
94 Earth Mother – In The Raw { 02.01.10 at 8:22 pm }
-
I’d make a Purdy Pecan Pie!

That’s right. Earth Mother, from In The Raw, is the winner! There were 105 comments and Mr. Random, over at Random.org, chose #94 – and that number belonged to Earth Mother.
Congratulations, Earth Mother. Enjoy your Purdy Pecan Pie! (You’ll be hearing from me soon!)
Updated to add: This contest has ended and a winner has been chosen. Thanks!

Hello! How’s your day going? Mine is fantabulous so far. Mr. Sunshine is visiting today. How very kind of him – yay!
Anyway, a while back, Danica from www.DanicasDaily.com hosted The Great Pumpkin Giveaway. I entered. There were THREE winners – and I was one of ‘em!
My Package from Danica
I love that she sent her (nicely typed) recipe and a beautiful, kind letter. Thank you, Danica! I love my prize – and all the thought you put into it!
The pumpkin butter was put to good use right away. The family had it smeared on pancakes. I’m trying to avoid those, so I swiped a spoonful straight from the jar. *giggles*
I have to say this, though: Trader Joe’s has nothing on my mom’s homemade pumpkin butter! (But, I could be a tad bit bias.)
Turkey Day
A lot of you are wondering if I’ll eat turkey on Thanksgiving. I’ve received emails and messages and questions on social media sites.
The answer is no.
There have been times over the past few years that I’ve allowed a little fish or turkey into my diet. I’ve been at minimum 75% raw and the majority of the time, I’m 90-100% raw most every day.
But after studying meat and fish for articles I’ve written (and for personal curiosity) and coming across such heartfelt, informative articles (such as Gena’s Reconsidering Veganism at ThanksLIVING at Choosing Raw) I’ve found it very easy to reevaluate my level of Raw Foodism and have really thrown myself into focusing on raw food, my health, and am working very, very hard to learn to be at peace with others’ perception of the way I choose to eat. Gena’s article really resonated deeply within my soul and I thank her (from the bottom of my heart) for sharing that beautifully written post – and for all the effort she pours into her entire site. (Thank you, Gena!!)
Here a Turkey, There a Turkey
I thought I’d start by showing you my pet turkeys: Gobbles and Goblet.
How could I eat Gobbles or Goblet? Nope. Not happening!
What Will this Raw Vegan Eat?
Honestly? I don’t know yet! I’ve searched my heart (and raw, Vegan recipes!) and have decided that I’m simply not going to worry about it. The holidays are a time to come together with precious friends and family and laugh, talk, catch up, and just be. It’s a time to reflect on grandparents, parents, siblings, or other relatives and friends who are no longer with us – an opportunity to cherish all those memories that we hold deep in our hearts.
Thanksgiving is about forgetting about material possessions and being thankful for all those things that have nothing to do with food, things that money can’t buy – like hugs, kisses, laughter, joy, and sparkles in the eyes of those you love.
Sure, I’m thinking of making a raw pecan dessert. And maybe a raw coconut cream pie dessert. I’ll probably just have a ginormous salad with a few nuts and other yummy toppings. I might nab a bite of momma’s sweet potato casserole….
But overall, I’m pleased to just be entering this Thanksgiving with a purpose: to enjoy my family and friends and just be in the moment.
I will try to take photos and document what I eat, though – I’ll blog about it later.

If you’re super interested in a true raw, Vegan Thanksgiving menu, check out Gena’s. It RAWks! Averie’s raw, Vegan ideas are RAWkin’ too!

Winning Number
There were 131 comments on the E3Live + BrainOn contest post. I visited Mr. Random (random.org) to select a winner.
The number result was 99.
Owner of #99
Why, that’d be Cyn from www.writeforehow.com!!
Cyn’s winning comment:
I follow your rawjuicegirl account on twitter.
I especially thought Cyn’s comments on the review posts (part of the contest entry options) were very sincere and deserving of winning this contest!
Cyn’s comment on The BrainOn Review
I. So. Need this.
I will be 40 years old in just five days. I’ve noticed –in the last year or so– a little forgetfulness and “brain fog” that wasn’t there before. It’s frustrating, because I was always such a great multi-tasker. Now, it’s harder to remained focused on one thing, let alone 4 or 5.
Cyn’s comment on The E3Live Review
I really-really-really want to try this stuff. If it weren’t for the price, I would have whipped out my credit card and ordered it after reading your review. The testimonials on their site are glowing…but most of all I trust your opinion. If you say it works, I believe you. Now I just need to figure out how to scrape together the cost during the costly holidays! ![]()
Like most of you, Cyn also entered various other ways. She worked hard to get her entries in.
And while I’d LOVE to send each and every one of you away with this fantabulous prize of over $200 of E3Live products so you could enhance your health, I simply cannot.
But do keep coming back. There are more contests in the future and more opportunities for you to win a fabulous book, delicious health foods, or even raw beauty products. Be encouraged, and keep working toward your ultimate health!
Congratulations, Cyn!!!
And a HUGE thank you to the fantabulous folks at E3Live for sponsoring this contest!!!

If you’re a first-time visitor, you may have missed my recent delivery of packages and upcoming reviews, Sunday fun and news or ShimmerOrganics. You might also enjoy A Package and a Story – this one is dear to my heart… Be sure to check ‘em out!
Note: E3Live sent me samples, but I have not been paid to write this review. The thoughts I share in this post are my honest opinions.
Why E3Live?
As most of you know, I talked quite a bit about E3Live during my 30-day juice fast (and some afterward).
It wasn’t my intentions to “up and stop mentioning this fantabulous product” – I’ve just had a lot going on and got swamped with all the incoming packages and other freelance projects I’m obligated to.
There’s actually a story about me and E3Live….
A few years ago, I met a raw foodist. I was fascinated by this man. His skin was pure perfection. His hair was dark and shiny and luscious. His eyes were clear and bright. Totally amazing.
And, no, not that kind of fascination – he was married! I’m talking about just being mesmerized by the overall picture of perfect health. I still can’t get over it!
We talked about how he’d lost a significant amount of weight and improved his health dramatically, and how I’d done the same. While I was a LOT healthier than I used to be, I still didn’t have that pristine appearance he did, and I still wasn’t as healthy as I wanted to be. The difference? You’re thinking it was the raw food, right? Nope. I had been a 100% raw foodist off and on and was high-raw, even then. So, while raw food plays a HUGE role in my health improving, there was something more.
So… what was the difference in our health journeys? E3Live. Yep. That’s it. He was a dedicated E3Live customer; I wasn’t. Actually, I’d never heard of it until he introduced me to it that day.
There was another difference in us, though: He was able to spend money that I didn’t have. He was a successful business man and I was climbing my way out of financial ruins (due to barely surviving domestic violence and enduring so many health issues I wasn’t able to work).
And THAT’S why I was sooooooooooooo very honored to have the opportunity to receive samples of E3Live and BrainOn – what a blessing!
Now, on to the review of E3Live (BrainOn review will be next)….
About the Company
E3Live was founded in 1991, by President Michael Saiber. Dr. Ann Wigmore introduced him to the raw lifestyle over 30 years ago — he’s 67, but certainly doesn’t look it! (See, I’m telling you… it’s that LOOK of pristine health!)
President
Michael enjoys a variety of exercises. He’s huge on health and fitness, is a lecturer, and has a genuine heart for helping people – particularly those suffering from chronic illness and birth defects. He thrives on consuming the blue-green algae he’s so passionate about, and is known for truly “walking the talk.”
In a world filled with deceit and people who don’t practice what they preach, I’d say that’s quite the honorable man who lives what he says he does!
CEO, Owner
Tamera has over 20 years of business management experience and has had the amazing opportunity to work closely with Dr. Brian Clement (of Hippocrates Health Institute), Dr. Gabriel Cousens, and Dr. Fred Bisci, and others.
She also lectures and is the creator of some of the best-selling green health products out there. Well-known doctors and clinics use Tamera’s formulas. (How awesome is that?!)
Oh, and Tamera is 46 – and radiantly beautiful!
E3Live’s blue-green algae is harvested from Klamath Lake in Oregon:
“Upper Klamath Lake is free of adverse bacteria, heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and fungicides. The lake receives an average 300 days of sunlight per year which provides a perfect growing environment for the world’s richest strain of wild AFA blue-green algae, scientifically known as Aphanizomenon flos-aquae. The alkaline lake water provides more than 60 times the nutrients needed for the algae to grow to its full potential each year. Under the right conditions, AFA algae can reproduce every 20 minutes, which provides a plentiful abundance of this organic, high life-force, miracle super food.”– www.E3Live.com
From my research and my experience with E3Live’s customer service, I have found them to be passionate and kind people who strive to not only represent themselves in a professional manner and create quality products, but they genuinely care about us wholeheartedly!
Read it out for yourself:
“Thanks to you, over $250,000 worth of products have been donated to clients and patients of our clients. The recipients of these donations have serious illnesses rendering their financial condition unable to purchase anything not covered by medical insurance. By supporting our products, you can help us continue this effort.” – www.E3Live.com
E3Live was mentioned in People Magazine!
E3Live
This blue-green algae is overflowing with goodies for our bodies to gobble up!
I love that the company is so dedicated to quality:
“We are very critical and selective when it comes to harvesting, filtering, testing and formulating all our products. Our harvesting and purity testing is of utmost importance to us. We not only meet, but exceed quality and safety standards for harvesting processes.”– www.E3Live.com
Pros
The pros of E3Live are endless, really. It’s loaded with vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and all sorts of healthy goodies our bodies are crying out for.
From E3Live’s website:
- Increase endurance and stamina
- Lift and balance mood to reduce stress
- Increase mental focus and concentration
- Balance blood-sugar levels
- Speed up recovery time
- Restore overall biochemical balance (1)
- Enjoy long-lasting energy boost (2)
- Grow healthier skin, nails and hair

That’s a LOT of pros!!
(1) Dr. Gabriel Cousens, Director, Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center
(2) Dr. Fred Bisci, nationally renowned health lecturer
Vitamins, Minerals, Amino Acids!
For Pets!
The caring people at www.E3Live.com didn’t forget – you can share the benefits with your furry friends!
E3Live is fantabulous for your PETS!! Pet lovers, I know you’re happy right now!!
Cons
The only cons I can find that you might not see as “Pros” are three things:
- The price. Now, while I absolutely believe in this product and have seen for myself how taking it daily enhanced my health, energized me, and just made me “feel better,” I do absolutely understand that $150 isn’t pocket change. And, honestly, I couldn’t have enjoyed its benefits if I hadn’t received samples to review. However, you DO get 5 bottles for that price. Because of having to make special shipping arrangements, the company has found that shipping 5 bottles in each box results in the best freshness and transport success.
- The taste. I’m personally used to the wonderful “green” taste health products often have. I’ve chugged potent herbal tonics, teas, and all sorts of concoctions. So, some of you may not like the taste. But the good news is… you can disguise it by tossing a serving into a smoothie or other recipe and enjoy its health benefits while your taste buds enjoy something yummy!
- The preparation. I freelance, so I’m at home, but I can understand someone who works outside the home a gazillion hours a week being afraid they might not have time to thaw and prepare the upcoming week’s servings. To ease your conscience, I’m sharing directions below to show you this isn’t really a con – you just might think it is…
How to Thaw E3Live Products
You don’t have to be nervous about how to thaw and consume E3Live. It only takes a few minutes to prepare your servings for the week.
- Simply take your bottle out of the freezer.
- Pop it in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes.
- Then pour 7 tablespoons of the melted liquid into a small jar or container with a lid.
- Put your bottle back in the freezer, and your small jar in the fridge for easy access during the week.
- That’s it!
See, I told you it’s easy!
How to Take E3Live
I personally just take a tablespoon straight up, but I’ve also added it to my green juice (as shown above) – especially during my 30-day juice fast.
You can also add it to smoothies or other recipes (think: raw fudge, etc.)
The possibilities are only as limited as your imagination and ingredients!
Verdict/Grade?
I’m sure after reading all this, you know I’m going to give E3Live an A+ grade. I have to, ya know? With such dedicated, caring people striving to help make the world a healthier place, only the highest grade applies. I give them extra points for donating their products to the less fortunate, who’d never be able to afford them. That speaks loudly of their character and what their business is all about. That, to me, shows they care more about us than they do about sales.
Thank you, E3Live, for being generous with samples – and with your heart!!
Have you ever taken E3Live supplements? What did you think of the taste? What kind of results did you have? Would you like to try it, but don’t have the extra money to? Stay tuned…
The Surprise?
After my review of BrainOn, E3Live is sponsoring a contest so one lucky winner can be rich with FIVE bottles of their awesome, blue-green algae (3 bottles of the original formula; 2 of BrainOn + a shaker cup—over a $200.oo value!!!). Get ready!!!
It’s always fun to host a contest here at Healing With (Raw) Juices – it’s even MORE fun when it’s time to share the winner!

Raw Chia Seeds

Chuggin’ Chia
A while back, the lovely folks at Navitas Naturals sent me some samples. Now, I’ve blogged about ‘em but somehow a lovely bag of their raw chia seeds got lost amidst the contest chaos. (Oops!) I’ve enjoyed my bag immensely–now it’s time for y’all to win your very own bag! Eeeek!
Raw Chia Seeds from Navitas Naturals are fantabulous! I’ve used them all sorts of ways. I absolutely love ‘em! They’re crunchy, chock-full of nutrition (more on that below), and I love that Navitas Naturals puts ‘em in a resealable bag that’s a breeze to store and reuse–and I’m thrilled that they’re a company focused on business practices that are kind to our environment.
Check out ways I’ve incorporated Navitas Naturals raw chia seeds into my diet….

In my green (hemp) oatmeal breakfast cookie…

See ‘em? Look behind the spoon and nut butter. They’re buried under there!

In my dehydrated veggie burgers (full details coming soon!)

In my raw juice, during my (most recent) 30-day juice fast.

I’ve also sprinkled these crunchy chia chompies on various raw salads. They add texture–and nutritional benefits!
As you can probably tell, I’m totally happy with this product.
So… how about we look into some of the nutrition–and other neat–information on raw chia seeds, directly from NavitasNaturals.com…

Aztec Seed of Strength
A long, long time ago – long before the era of terracotta “chia pets” — the chia seed was cultivated and eaten by the ancient Aztecs, Incans, and Mayans and was considered a staple food alongside corn and beans. “Chia” is the Mayan word for “strength”, and though these cultures may not have had the medical research to back up their health claims, chia is enjoying an escalating renaissance by today’s medical community as well as everyday consumers. Also full of dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals (especially calcium and iron), chia has much in common with flaxseed, with the distinct advantage that its natural antioxidants make its delicate healthy fats more nutritionally stable. Navitas Naturals offers the wonderful chia seed in its whole organic state as well as in a sprouted powder form.
Source and Processing
This is a single ingredient product that is raw, gluten-free, kosher, vegan, and 100% organic.
Nutrition Information – Seeds
Ingredients: Certified organic chia seeds (Salvia hispanica)
Allergen Information: Packaged in a facility that also handles tree nuts
Chia Seeds in a Bowl

This sounds like an amazing book! I have never done a detox, and although i really want to, they always feel so daunting! I love that this book is tailored to women and that she allows for a little bit of cooked whole foods in it. I would also like to see what she has to say about irregular menses. thanks for the contest!
Congratulations!
And now you’ll find out–congrats to you, Elizabeth! Shoot me an email (healingwithjuices at gmail dot com) with your mailing address and I’ll get your book in the mail as soon as possible!
